Kudampuli, widely known as the Malabar tamarind or Kerala tamarind is a green to yellowish tinted fruit resembling a mini pumpkin. This is used in a number of traditional recipes like curries. It has a sour taste. The fruit is used only after drying it in the Sun for several days until it turns black with a shrivelled appearance.
